Where did life take you after BOA Stage and Screen Production Academy?
After my time at BOA, I went on to study Live Events Production at the Academy of Live Technology in Wakefield, the UK’s leading university for concerts and festivals. During my studies, I have been given the opportunity to work alongside major companies and industry professionals on a variety of tours and live shows. I have also secured a position as a Technician with a company that provides technical support for smaller events, allowing me to continue developing my hands-on experience.
What was your fondest memory of BOA Stage and Screen Production Academy?
My fondest moment at BOA Stage and Screen was working on my final Christmas production of Young Frankenstein. It was the first time everything I’d learnt really came together, and seeing the show come to life was exciting. Working with supportive staff and classmates made it a great experience and confirmed that I wanted to work in live events and technical production.
Why did you attend BOA Stage and Screen Production Academy?
I attended BOA Stage and Screen Production because I’m not the most academic person, and coming to BOA meant I could be more hands-on with the equipment and gain real experience working on actual shows, with less focus on theory work.
Why should students apply for BOA Stage and Screen Production Academy?
People should apply for BOA Stage and Screen Production Academy as the experience you get is much more that what others get from elsewhere, as well as the industry standard level of kit you get hands-on experience with.
Lastly, a piece of advice for current learners: Don't be afraid to speak to people and just get to know everyone and anyone. It's not what you know, its who you know.
