Student Support
Safeguarding Leads
We are committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and respected. Our experienced safeguarding team works closely with students, families and external agencies to ensure that any concerns are responded to promptly and appropriately. We encourage all students to speak to a trusted member of staff if they are worried about themselves or someone else, ensuring they receive the support they need to succeed both academically and personally.
We are committed to the highest standards in protecting and safeguarding our students. If you are concerned that any student is being harmed or is at risk of being harmed or receive information (intentionally or unintentionally) you must contact the following designated member of staff immediately.
Where can I find support at the academy?
We understand that everyone needs support from time to time, and at our academy there are a range of dedicated staff available to help you succeed both academically and personally. Your pathway teacher will often be your first point of contact, supporting your progress, attendance, wellbeing and overall college experience. They will see you regularly and be available to discuss your academic progress, celebrate your achievements and help you overcome any challenges you may face.
Our Learning Support Assistants (LSAs), Emily Lewis and Ben Somers-Heslam, work closely with students who require additional support in lessons, helping to remove barriers to learning and ensuring everyone can reach their full potential. If you have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), additional learning needs or simply need extra guidance, our LSAs are there to support you every step of the way.
For specialist advice and support, our Pastoral, Safeguarding and SEND Lead, Megan Rogers is available to help with a wide range of concerns, including mental health and wellbeing, safeguarding, attendance, SEND provision, personal issues and access to external support services.

Students can speak to the pastoral team in confidence, knowing they will be listened to, supported and, where appropriate, helped to access the right services.
Our Staff Governor, Luke Johnson, is also available for students who would like to share feedback, raise concerns or simply talk through an issue from a different perspective. Students are welcome to approach the Staff Governor if they have something they would like to discuss or if they feel they need an additional source of support.
