In response to unprecedented demand for Post-18 courses, BOA, listed in ‘The Stage’ as one of the top Performing Arts schools, and in the top 10% of schools nationally, is running a new foundation course.

This one year foundation course will give students professional training in acting, dancing and singing. Students will have access to directors, choreographers, musical directors and agents.
 

The course is designed for students who already have a Level 3 qualification in either Musical Theatre or Acting but wish to immerse themselves in the musical theatre genre and want to improve their technique and performance skills.

 

It is suitable for students who want to enhance their skills for auditions in the industry, a gap year before pursuing a degree or just for enjoyment and passion for musical theatre.

RSL Level 4 Extended Certificate for Creative Industries Practitioners.

SELF
ANALYSIS

This course guarantees you access to perform in a small touring company and work alongside professional directors, choreographers and musical directors and agents.
 
Students must be 18 years old. (They cannot reach 20 years old during the academic year 2021-2022).

SKILLS DEVELOPMENT [Unit 1]

This unit will include:

• Demonstrate knowledge and execution of technical skills

• Display creativity and expressions through chosen discipline

• Evidence an understanding of the broader context in which skills may be applied

 

Each student will be assessed for this unit by:

Portfolio | Filmed performance and presentation  | Contextural discussion 

SELF ANALYSIS [Unit 2]

This unit will include:

• Self-management

• Techniques for self-development

• Skills analysis

• Development of continuing professionalism

Each student will be assessed for this unit by:

Documentary evidence of self-evaluation and development | Evidence of progression and skills development | Submission of e-portfolio

Performance & Production 1 Year Foundation Coarse Criteria
The course criteria is a follows:
• Fully funded (no fees)
• Students will be on roll at BOA Stage & Screen Production Academy
• Training will be delivered at BOA Stage & Screen Production Academy, BOA Academy, The Rep and the Old Rep
• Students will be required to tour as part of 'the company'.
• The course starts In September 2021
