Our full-time Study Programmes

Our curriculum has been designed to open the door to the industry. Choose the course that best suits your passions and interests.

Each course is modular, and underpinned by Level 3 BTEC qualifications (worth the equivalent of 3 A-Levels), with both compulsory modules, and optional components.

Every Full-time, 2-Year, Study Programme consists of:

  • A Core Qualification(s) (BTEC Level 3) (1080 Guided Learning Hours)

  • Personal and Professional Development Programme (100 Guided Learning Hours)

  • Industry Qualifications (30 Guided Learning Hours)

  • Work Placements and Experiences (10-45 days)

  • English and Maths (For those who have not already achieved a GCSE grade 4 or above)

Within each pathway students are given the opportunity to develop skills in both existing and emerging technical and creative production techniques, approaches and technologies as well as being introduced to industry vocabulary and effective communication strategies. We personalise students' learning journeys in order to meet their needs and goals.

All students have a personal and professional tutor who regularly meets with them to discuss their progress and individual career goals and aspirations and supports them with work placements and portfolio-building. Each student creates a portfolio website which provides a record of their learning, personal development, work experience and additional qualifications, as well as their personal interests and specialisms. This is then developed into their professional freelancing portfolio during their second year of study. Students take part in workshops and practical sessions and will have opportunities to prepare and plan for their progression into the world of work.

All students take part in practical lessons, seminars, lectures, workshops, tutorials, major projects and work placements where they explore the foundations of the industry in relation to their personal interests and specialisms. We have split the areas of study into individual pathways/courses. However, all students have the opportunity to study units across pathways and work together on major projects and productions.
